A local resident since 1973, Michael has been in the Phoenix-Scottsdale hospitality industry since 1982, when he served on the opening crew of Hotel Westcourt. Next he opened The Buttes and worked there for 13 years, serving as Director of Engineering during the Dallas Cowboys' stay for Super Bowl XXX, then became Chief Engineer on the opening crew of the Embassy Suites Paradise Valley in 2000. Married for 22 years with two children, Michael also spent two years as President of the Arizona Hotel Engineers Association. A lover of the outdoors and cooking, Michael has spent weeks at a time hiking the New Mexico back country and canoeing in the Canadian wilderness while also serving as chief cook and bottle washer on many a camping trip.

Hotel Valley Ho was cool back in 1956 when it first opened its doors. Before downtown Scottsdale was downtown. It's every bit as chic now, after an expansive but meticulously groomed 2005 renovation.
