SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Hotel Valley Ho has received the “Certified Green” designation from the Arizona Hotel and Lodging Association.
In order to receive this designation, the hotel had to complete the AZHLA certified green self-certification workbook. It scored over twice as many points as necessary for the certification. For program verification, third-party inspectors are sent to randomly selected properties throughout the year.
Hotel Valley Ho is proud to have received this designation, as it strives to be environmentally friendly. The hotel has also been given the Award of Merit by the Valley Forward Association’s Environmental Excellence Awards Program and the Green Award by the Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Green by Design Awards, as well as being nominated for the Good Earth Keeping Award at the 2009 AZHLA Stars of the Industry Awards.
Hotel Valley Ho is green in a number of ways – it uses green-certified cleaning chemicals; recycles guest room soap, shampoo, and other items; uses energy-efficient light bulbs; purchases produce from local farms; recycles 1.5 tons of material per month; and more.
